Our old kits being put to great use around the world

As well as our recent collection of football boots where we generated 80 pairs of boots to support local families and national charities, we also recently embarked on a collection of old replica kits as well as donating our old KWFC kits to charity.

We are incredibly fortunate at KWFC to have a range of fabulous sponsors who have supported us along the way of our 3 year journey since setting the club up in 2017.

Without the support of our sponsors we simply would not be where we are today.

However, we recognise that in certain parts of the world there are children who share the same desire to play football as our children do, but they don't have the means or access to such generous sponsors that we have been fortunate to have.

Therefore we decided that we wanted to see what we could do to help.

We came into contact with a wonderful charity by the name of KitAid.

KitAid was set up 21 years ago by Derrick Williams MBE and during that time Derrick and his team have provided over 600,000 items of kit to 55 different countries around the world.

Many of the kits go to support children in Africa and give them the opportunity to form teams and enjoy football in a way that we can all too often take for granted.

Amongst the many wonderful stories is a group of boys at an Orphanage in Malawi who were able to be supported by the great work of KitAid and are now known as KitAid FC and are generating a team of rising stars!

KWFC are thrilled to have played a small part in supporting the KitAid charity. We have donated our original KWFC kit that we had from our first season along with the tracksuit tops. Also the full original kit from our now U9s has been donated.

This was backed up with a further 70 replica shirts donated by the boys from our club and friends of KWFC. There was a vast array of shirts from Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, Leicester City, Barcelona and many more besides.

It's great to know that these shirts won't simply be disposed of but will now be re-used and bring smiles to the faces of many children across the world.

Thank you all for your support and we look forward to working closely with KitAid again in the future.

Our U11 Managers Ste and Damo Giles are pictured handing over one of our kits to Derrick Williams MBE of KitAid, whilst also receiving our thank you plaque for supporting the charity.
