We finally got to give the boys their awards!

Whilst our U9s were able to kick off their 2020/21 pre-season yesterday, we still had unfinished business in terms of presenting the boys with their awards for the U8 2019/20 season.

Following their excellent performance away at Cotgrave earlier in the day, the boys returned to Kirkby to hold their presentation afternoon.

All the boys were rewarded for their efforts with their participation trophies and in a really nice touch from coaches Danny and Ryan, the boys also each received a special folder containing their player profiles as a keepsake for the season.

In terms of our special awards we saw 5 boys all scoop awards for last season.

There were two winners of the Special Achievement Award with Louis Shaw and Harrison Fowkes being rewarded for their contribution to the team in the 19/20 season.

Having given his all in the friendly earlier in the morning, Ethan Walker-Abbiss was struggling to get to the awards afternoon but was very glad he did as he collected the Supporters Player of the Year Award.

It's never easy being the son of one of the Manager's but having scored over 150 goals in the first two seasons and for always showing a tremendous attitude towards matches and training, the Managers Player of the Year went to Henley Nuttall - who earlier had scored our first goal of the new pre-season.

Tristan Parry is a very quiet young man who goes about his business with a great degree of coolness about him, but this boy is an outstanding talent and that was well recognised by his team mates who voted him as their Players Player of the Year.

Well done to all of our boys for their tremendous efforts in the cut-short 19/20 season and along with their new team mates, Will and Harry, we look forward to seeing them progress again in the new season.
