We're proud to announce the expansion of our club with a brand new team!

We're feeling like proud parents this afternoon as we announce the arrival of the latest addition to the Kirkby Woodhouse FC family.

We're adding a fourth team to the club ahead of the 2021/22 season and we couldn't be more excited about seeing a new group of youngsters wearing the yellow and blue.

A new U8s team will be the latest addition to the club. Children for this team will currently be in school Year 2 and moving to Year 3 in September.

We'd like to formally welcome our new U8s Manager for next season, Daley Robinson.
Daley has a wealth of football experience both as a player and a coach and we are sure will be a positive role-model for the children he works with at the club, just as our existing coaches are.

Chairman Steve Giles said "We're delighted to be announcing this new team for next season. When we set up the club four years ago we were clear that our aim was to not try and build a club made up of as many teams as possible. We've always wanted to maintain a level that can be well managed and most importantly involves the right people to promote the best interests of the children that become part of the club. Daley and I have known each other for many years, right back to the days of banging in goals for our primary school! With Daley's background and his outlook on youth football I am confident we are taking another positive step forward with the club to join our three fantastic three teams that we already have established."

The new U8s will compete in the Sunday Kickstart League for the 2021/22 season. Looking ahead to the challenge of leading his new team, Daley told the club website: "At KWFC, we are committed to helping each player achieve their full potential. Everything we do is player-centric, making sure all kids are challenged to make their own decisions and learn to not only play, but learn to love football. We provide a safe space to not only to progress new skills, but to experiment and try them out in games and fail - without any negativity."

"The Swifts offer a positive, supportive and inspirational environment that focuses on the development of players, rather than results. The philosophy is simple: if we focus on the player development and nurturing a collective spirit, the accolades will come."

"I can't wait to get started"

Daley is FA certified in coaching, safeguarding and First Aid and holds an enhanced DBS certificate.

We'll have more details for the new U8s team in due course.

Looking ahead to next season, the club will be represented at four age groups:
