The Boots Were Made For Playing...

...And they'll keep playing a good while longer yet

At KWFC we don't only seek to do the best for the children at our club, but we're always keen to see how we can play a part in the wider community.

With the kids all returning to school this week, all parents will no doubt have had to deal with the issue of buying new school shoes given the amount the kids have grown over the past six-months in lockdown!

The same goes for football boots. With rapidly growing children it all too often means that a pair of boots can still be as good as new when they've become outgrown.

Having been inspired by some online charity work we had seen, our Vice-Chairman and U11 Manager, Damon Giles, set about collecting pairs of boots that could be used to support other youngsters with their football boot requirements.

With a fantastic response from the players, parents and supporters of KWFC, we collected in a whopping 80 PAIRS of football boots!

We first of all made these available within the local community to help out players and families in the Mansfield and Ashfield area. These were not being sold (though we have received some cash donations which will also be passed on to local charities), the intention was simply to support local young footballers. 13 of the 80 pairs were delivered to local families and those children will be making the most of those new boots as thier seasons kick off this weekend.

We then came into contact with a fabulous organisation by the name of P3 Charity.

Whilst P3 work nationwide, we came into contact with Lisa Towndrow at their local office in Ilkeston.

P3 are a charity and social enterprise with the goal of connecting and integrating communities in a range of different ways.

The boots we have collected will be delivered to one of the partner Trusts based in London where the boots will be distributed to young children who might otherwise not have had the opportunity to enjoy their start into football with a pair of boots.

Your generous donations will ensure that these children get to enjoy a start into their football journey's just as our children have.

It's a great feeling to know that the contributions from the KWFC friends and families will be making a positive impact to children in other parts of the country.

Thank you all for your generous donations.
