Thank you to everyone who sponsored our 31 boys and 6 coaches!

We are absolutely overwhelmed by the support we have received for our Woodhouse to Wembley fundraiser.

The event which saw our 31 boys and 6 coaches complete an 11-mile walk over two weekends to complete a virtual walk between our home of Kirkby Woodhouse and Wembley Stadium, really seems to have captured the imagination of everyone!

Our intention was to raise some funds for the football club and support a local good cause in the process and basically try and do something positive during what has otherwise been a pretty bleak time.

We set each player and coach the target of trying to raise at least £25 in sponsorship which would give us enough money to put to a new kit for one of our three teams for next season and then using the other funds to create some care packages for the fabulous doctors and nurses at Kings Mill Hospital who have been working hard on the frontline and keeping us safe and taking care of those people in our community who have been unwell due to COVID-19.

Well, we’re still all rather stunned by the fabulous response we have had from friends, family and supporters old and new who have got right behind us with our campaign.
To say we smashed our target is an understatement!

Thanks to your incredible generosity we have raised a whopping £4,155!!!

This not only means we are now able to take care of more kit and equipment for our club heading into another new season, but it means we can also support more local good causes than we had originally intended which is just brilliant news.

As well as preparing the care packages for our doctors and nurses the club will now be donating £1000 split equally between four charities who will also now benefit from your kindness.

We are currently speaking with the chosen charities about how we can best support them and once agreed we will be able to make an announcement on the charities which we are supporting – so stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for more news.

We could not be prouder of the children for their efforts, and we could not be more grateful for the wonderful support we have received.

To every single one of you who supported us, sponsored one of our children and wished us well – THANK YOU!
